A camping pan must be light and compact
A heavy and massive camping pan has no place in a camping bag. When hiking, the weight and compactness of the equipment is extremely important. A camping pan should be as good as the one you have at home (but why not even better). A high-quality camping pan weighs little. The lighter, the better, of course, but the weight should be less than 500 grams.
The handle of the camping pan must be either removable or foldable. There is never too much room in the backpack, and the fixed handle would simply stick out everywhere. The folding handle on the pan should be one that can be fixed for cooking. This helps prevent accidents when handling a hot pan.
The third important feature of a pan to take on a hike is that food should not stick to the bottom of the pan. The options for washing dishes and accessories are generally limited (if not non-existent) while on a hike, and you often have to deal with only cold water, no dishwashing detergent or even a limited amount of water.
