The Mil-Tec rain poncho is rated as one of the best rain ponchos for its price and quality. The durable PVC material keeps up to 1,600 mm of rain at bay. In addition, the hood of the rain poncho perfectly protects the face and head from raindrops, because it forms a long tunnel like a beak around the face. The poncho is large enough to comfortably cover a person almost two meters tall.
A rain poncho turns into a tarp
The Mil-Tec rain poncho has studs on its sides. When they are opened, the rain poncho forms a durable tarp that can be laid down as a cover, set between trees as a roof, or used as an additional base for a sleeping bag in a tent or in the open air. This means that in addition to the rain poncho you always have a fairly large and durable rain tarp with you, which, unlike the usual rain tarp, is light and compact.
Everything fits under it
The rain poncho is wide, so a backpack can definitely fit under it and it also covers well the items carried in your arms. The cape also covers the legs while sitting, which is important during rest breaks on the hike and makes, for example, watching an open air performance or a concert pleasant even in rain.

The easiest way when you are on a hike is to stretch the poncho between trees to dry after the rain has passed, but if you have to fold the poncho away quickly, it will probably end up wet in the bag and then you have to make sure that the poncho gets properly dried before it is stored for a long time, to prevent the formation of mold.
